Diagnostics at the Pharmacy
Our doctors will provide care over the phone or via video—and if further diagnostic testing is needed, we’ll refer you to a specific Medgate Connect pharmacy. There, trained pharmacy staff use modern digital sensor devices to perform examinations, such as ear or lung exams, listening to the heart, measuring blood pressure, or drawing blood for lab tests. A Medgate doctor is connected live during the process and incorporates the collected data into the diagnosis in real time. If necessary, a prescription is issued immediately.
In about 70% of cases, this combination of telemedical consultation and on-site diagnostics allows for a definitive treatment plan—without the need for a follow-up doctor’s visit.

You contact Medgate with your medical concern. Our doctors will advise you and, if necessary, issue a referral for further tests.
Examination at the pharmacy
You schedule an appointment at a Medgate Connect pharmacy near you. The trained staff will perform the prescribed examinations—with a Medgate doctor participating via live video link.
Diagnosis and Treatment
The results will be discussed either at the pharmacy or during a follow-up teleconsultation. If necessary, you will receive an e-prescription directly to fill at the pharmacy or a treatment recommendation.

Costs
Telemedicine appointments with Medgate are billed through health insurance as part of statutory coverage (just like an in-person visit to a doctor’s office) and are recognized by all Swiss health insurers. During the day on weekdays, a teleconsultation costs an average of CHF 50.
In certain insurance plans offered by our partner health insurers, you may not even incur costs toward your deductible or copayment.
