Our Services for Medical Practices and Practice Groups
Our team of doctors helps you absorb high peaks in your patient demand and bridge when you are closed. We train your medical assistants in triage for telemedicine—which allows us to resolve more than three-quarters of all cases over the phone.

Practice at Capacity? Medgate's Overflow Triage Provides a Short-Term Solution
In the event of temporary bottlenecks at your practice—such as a higher volume of patients or absences among the medical staff—your medical assistants can refer selected patients to Medgate. They will receive training in advance on how to identify cases that are well-suited for telemedicine treatment. This allows you to focus your resources on cases that require an in-person consultation.
A Patient Calls the Doctor's Office
Your medical assistants answer calls from patients during regular office hours. During the initial conversation, they determine whether an issue can be resolved via telemedicine. They have received basic training from Medgate for this purpose. They refer appropriate cases to Medgate.
Medgate Treats
The Medgate team of doctors treats referred patients over the phone. If necessary, they issue sick leave certificates, e-prescriptions, or referrals. About 80 percent of cases that have undergone preliminary triage by a medical assistant can be handled over the phone.
Loyalty Remains with You
Medgate takes over your patients during short-term spikes in demand. However, the patients remain entirely under your care, and you continue to be their primary point of contact. If an issue cannot be resolved via telemedicine, the affected patients will be referred back to your practice.
Is the Office Closed? Patients Can Get Medical Help by Calling the Office Phone Number
Outside of your practice’s regular hours, you can direct patients to Medgate via an automated voice message. This provides your patients with a reliable medical resource while relieving you of the burden of providing emergency coverage during off-hours-without any additional organizational effort.
A Patient Calls the Doctor's Office
Patients call the doctor's office outside of business hours. The automated message informs them that they can contact Medgate with their concerns. They are transferred to Medgate by pressing a button.
Medgate Treats
The Medgate team of doctors treats patients over the phone. If necessary, they issue e-prescriptions, medical certificates, or referrals. About 50 percent of cases can be handled over the phone.
Loyalty Remains with You
The patients will remain entirely under your care, and you will continue to be their primary point of contact. If a non-urgent physical examination is necessary, the patients will be referred back to your practice.
